- First stage: from Pieve di Cascia to Castelfranco di Sopra — approximately 14.1 km
The route starts from Pieve di Cascia, in the Reggello area, crosses the Valdarno countryside and passes by the Pieve di Santa Maria a Scò before reaching Castelfranco di Sopra. - Second stage: from Castelfranco di Sopra to Loro Ciuffenna — approximately 16.8 km
The stage crosses the landscape of the Balze del Valdarno and continues to Loro Ciuffenna, a village on the slopes of Pratomagno, crossed by the Ciuffenna stream. - Third stage: from Loro Ciuffenna to Castiglion Fibocchi — approximately 22.9 km
This is the longest stage and passes by the Pieve di Gropina, crosses San Giustino Valdarno and continues towards Il Borro before reaching Castiglion Fibocchi.
What to see along the Cammino dei Setteponti
One of the most interesting aspects of the Cammino dei Setteponti is the variety of landscapes encountered along the route.
The Balze del Valdarno, with their distinctive sand and clay formations, alternate with Romanesque parish churches such as San Pietro a Gropina, small villages such as Castelfranco di Sopra and Loro Ciuffenna, and countryside shaped by vineyards, olive groves and typical Valdarno views.
As the route approaches San Giustino Valdarno, it also passes close to Il Borro, a medieval village surrounded by the Tuscan countryside.
